We do things a little bit differently around here..
This brand has come a long way since launching in early 2013. Since then we've grown from a one-woman show to an award-winning nine-member team, and have documented thousands of photo shoots.
Here's a few quick things you need to know about us:
1. Our focus here is on bold, bright and fresh photography,
capturing engaging and warm head shots, personal branding pics,
events, interiors, products and so much more.
2. We are natural-light, lifestyle photographers (and don't use studios!).
This means we use minimal gear, don't shoot in studios, and that our sessions are quick and fun, without the need to constantly adjust lighting and flashes.
3. We are fun, organised and efficient!
All of our sessions are designed to be easy-going, stress-free and a lot of fun.
We have a quick and simple booking-in system run via email by our lovely office manager Grace, and from initial enquiry to end delivery of product we aim to make each step of the way as seamless as possible.
4 We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa - but love to travel!

Robyn Davie Photography was launched in early 2013, when Robyn was living and working in Los Angeles. It was here that she first picked up her camera to document head shots for the plethora of actors in LA.
And from there the business grew exponentially. Robyn taught herself endless tricks of the trade through a lot of trial and error, online tutorials and more than anything, just getting out there and taking pictures!
In 2015 Robyn returned to her hometown of Johannesburg and expanded into family photography, where she really grew her business into a household name - have a look at her other website here, showcasing her lifestyle family work.
Robyn is a born-and-bred proud Joburger, and studied a BA Corporate Communication and Psychology at the University of Johannesburg. She loves how she uses so much of that degree every day - from marketing strategies to advertising campaigns, to social interaction and body language.
Prior to entering the photographic world, Robyn spent 3-4 years working as a wardrobe stylist and art director for the film industry. She has also dabbled in event coordination & event management, retail & sales, and bar & restaurant work. She credits this vast array of industries for her well-attuned creative eye, wide understanding of hospitality & commitment to excellent client service.
In 2016 Robyn saw that it was time to grow and expand her company even further, and took on her first associate photographer. From there the team just grew and grew
- and now includes an office manager, six associate photographers and a couple of editors.

Robyn herself still takes on photographic assignments as well, but the job of running a fully-fledged nine-member photographic team and company is a ten-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week kind of thing. (But don't get us wrong - she LOVES this hustle! This business is her baby and she loves seeing it grow and blossom!)

Our team is now comprised of nine members, allowing us to offer a high level of uncompromising service to our clients.
Our fabulous office manager Grace will run you through your booking process - and she has all the info and answers to streamline this system perfectly.
Over the past five years of creating, developing and building our brand one of the biggest obstacles we have faced is that there are just not enough hours in the day.
It is because of this that we launched our associate photographer program in 2016 - through which we can empower young fellow photographers by training them in our style and work ethic, and then send out these brilliant creatives to shoot gorgeous images for our clients, under our brand.
This is not a referral system - these amazing photographers shoot for us, their images are curated and edited by our editing team, and the final product bears all the trademarks of a Robyn Davie Photography photograph.
We have absolute faith in my team and personally hand pick the right associate for each job based on their skill set.
This incredible team have such a creative eye for taking photos.
They are reliable, fun to be around, and always astonish us with their beautiful captures of kids birthdays, family sessions and corporate events.
As they represent our brand, we only send out the very best to document your shoot.
The process is just like booking a shoot with Robyn - all communication is run through our office manager, simplifying the process for you; your photographer will arrive on your shoot date fully briefed and prepped to shoot; and then all post-production such as editing, invoicing and photo book creation is handled in-house by our design team.
We approve each photograph before it is sent out to you!

"For my 20th birthday present, my family bought me an entry level DSLR. Since then, it's always been by my side whenever I travel and explore. For the past year or so, I have started taking it more seriously, doing online tutorials to learn more about the technical aspects. It now makes up a large part of my income as a freelancer. I love capturing the raw emotion that comes from the kids. Whether their dad is swinging them around in the air, or they've just discovered a pinecone on the ground, it brings me so much happiness to capture that natural, innocent and pure emotion in a photograph."
